Aaron Gordon Out Indefinitely After Dog Bite
Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon will miss an indefinite amount of time after suffering lacerations to his face and hand from a dog bite.
Gordon was bitten by his dog on Tuesday, December 27, 2023, and underwent surgery the following day. The Nuggets announced that Gordon will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Gordon is averaging 16.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game this season. He has been a key contributor for the Nuggets, who are currently 20-13 and third in the Western Conference.
In Gordon's absence, the Nuggets will likely turn to Michael Porter Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for increased minutes at forward. Porter Jr. is averaging 17.1 points per game this season, while Caldwell-Pope is averaging 11.6 points per game.
The Nuggets will hope to have Gordon back in the lineup soon, as they are looking to make a deep playoff run this season. They are currently one of the favorites to win the Western Conference and reach the NBA Finals.
